Simple iPhone Fixes 2: Locking or Freezing

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

If your iPhone freezes or becomes unresponsive you can restart it by holding the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide your finger across it to switch off the phone.

Then to switch it back on hold the sleep/wake button until the Apple logo appears.

However, if this doesn’t work you can reset the iPhone settings by going to the home screen and then Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This will reset all of your preferences without deleting any media on your phone.

iPhone Help: iTunes

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

In this blog we’re going to focus on some more simple issues that you can fix at home. Starting with compatibility between your iPhone and iTunes.

Firstly,  if your iPhone doesn’t appear in iTunes you may need to update to the latest version.

You can do this by following this link and downloading the version featured on the Apple download page

You can set your iTunes to update automatically by downloading Apple Software Update here . However, this software will also inform you of other Apple updates other than just iTunes, for example QuickTime player updates.

If updating doesn’t work you may need to recharge the battery on the iPhone or disconnect any other USB devices and connect the iPhone to a different port. If all else fails try resetting your iPhone and/or computer.

Signal and Antenna Problems

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

A lot of people are having difficulty with the reception on their iPhone 4. This is due to a technical error in Apple’s design.

If you are having issues with your reception you can request a case or armband from Apple that fixes the problem rather easily, simply fix the case to your iPhone and you’re ready to go.

You can go to the Apple website (http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/home/shop_iphone/iphone_accessories/cases) and request a free case or a refund for anyone that’s already purchased one.
